Terrance "Terry" Eugene Casey

Terrance "Terry" Eugene Casey, 75, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 in Graham.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Survivors include: son, Terry Casey of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Caroline Lupton and husband, Travis of Olathe, Kansas; sister, Elaine Casey of Graham; brother, Eastin Casey and wife, Sheryl of Graham; former wife Anne Cassidy Hamilton; and grandchildren, Hannah, Cassidy, Eden, and Isla.

Terry was born in Waco, Texas on June 3, 1945, at the home of his maternal grandparents Thomas and Berta Mae York.  He was the eldest son of James Newton Casey of Jacksboro, Texas and Geraldine Florence (York) Casey of Waco, Texas. Terry’s father served in the US Air Force, so Terry was a “military brat”.   At the age of 3 he traveled to Japan with his mother to join his father who was stationed there.  The family lived in Japan until the beginning of the Korean War.  For the remainder of his childhood and teenage years, he lived all over the United States during his father’s military service. He loved spending summers with his paternal grandparents, Edith and Bart Carney, on their ranch in West Texas, and had many entertaining stories to share about his time spent there.

Upon graduation from high school in Eugene, Oregon he attended business school before joining the United States Air Force in 1968.  His first assignment was in Taiwan, followed by a station at RAF Upper Heyford, Oxford, England.  While there, Terry met Anne Cassidy in London on June 6, 1970. They were married in Bicester, England on October 1, 1970, and together they had 2 children, Terry and Caroline.  He retired from the USAF in 1988, but continued as a civilian employee in the field of computer programming with the Air Force for many more years.

Terry had many interests, from quiet pursuits like reading and fishing to more adventurous activities like long motorcycle rides.  His children remember warmly the many road trips they took together, and spending long summer days at the lake.  Terry loved seeing his grandchildren and always planned special things to do when they would visit.  He also had a heart for charitable causes, including Wounded Warrior Project and overseas child sponsorship.

Throughout his life, Terry was a steady strength to his loved ones. He had a kind and laid back nature, and gained the respect of all who knew him. Terry was a good and loving son, father, brother and friend, and he will be greatly missed.
