H.T. "Tom" Hunnewell, 84, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Graham. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Randy Branson officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Tom was born on March 25, 1926 in Weatherford to the late Harry Cray and Lotty (Oliver) Hunnewell. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and later received his BS in Petroleum Engineer and Geology from Texas A&M University Class of 1950. He married Billye Jo Hughes on June 21, 1952 in Electra. She preceded him in death on August 8, 1988. He married Barbara Ann Freeman on September 29, 1989 in Graham. He was President of Echo Production and Twin Montana Inc. Tom was a member of the Young County Masonic Lodge #485, Texas Board of Professional Engineers, Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Association of Petroleum Geologist, North Texas Oil & Gas Association, West Central Texas Oil & Gas Association, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Graham. Tom served on the Graham City Council from 1978 to 1982, Young County Appraisal District Director, Director at BFX Corporation, and a Director at Graham Savings and Loan.
Survivors include: wife, Barbara Hunnewell of Graham; daughter, Kathleen Ford of Flagstaff, AZ; sons, Chris Hunnewell and wife, Carolyn and Lee Allen Hunnewell and wife, Caroline both of Graham; daughter, Shannon Plowman, and husband Cody of Graham; step-children, Scott Freeman of Graham and Tammie Freeman of Graham; seven grandchildren, Christy Walker, Travis and Brady Plowman, Misty Hunnewell, Natalie Yandle, Nicole Boucher, and Spenser Freeman; six great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Jewell Dean Freeman of Graham.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, American Cancer Society Young County Chapter, or your favorite charity.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
