Vestal Martin

Vestal Florence Martin, 91, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 in Graham. Graveside service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Cottonwood Cemetery in Jack County. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Vestal was born December 6, 1921 in Hermleigh to the late Jasper Clarence and Talluah Viola Rasco. She married Grady L. Martin and he preceded her in death in 1971. Vestal was a private sitter and a longtime resident of Bryson.

Survivors include: sons, Doug Martin and wife, Alice of Bryson and Lynn Martin of Abilene; daughter, Kay Shepard and husband, Mark of Loving; nine grandchildren, Frankie Bailey of Graham, Delaina Goss of Decatur, Lisa Shubert of Granbury, Dana Newsom of Graham, Paula Benes of Bryson, Brandon Bailey of Loving, Kelly Smith of Loving, and Chris and Mike Martin of Dallas; best friend, Barbara Hibbits; 20 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, a son, a granddaughter, a grandson, a great grandson, three sisters, and three brothers.

Family visitation will be held Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of choice.
