Viola Bass Morrison, 80, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 in Graham. Graveside service will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church. Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Viola was born on February 22, 1929 in Wink, Texas, to Pearl and William Bass. She grew up in Amarillo and attended Amarillo High School. Upon graduating, Viola went to The University of Texas on a train. There she met the love of her life, Bob Morrison. They married in Austin in 1950 and moved to Graham, where they raised four children, Robert, Marcy, Greg, and John. She devoted her life to her family, friends, and community. Viola, "Vi", served as the first president of the Graham Hospital Auxiliary, and was active in the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for high school students for seventeen years. She was also involved with several businesses in the Graham area.
She is survived by her sons Robert Morrison III of Irving, Texas, Greg Morrison of Ft. Worth, John Morrison and wife Amy of Graham, and daughter Marcy Henry and husband Mike of Ft. Worth. She has a brother Bill Bass and sister Lynn Bennis and sister-in-law, Frances Hammond, all of Graham. A brother, Marvin Bass and wife Sandra of Amarillo, and a sister-in-law Corinne Bass of Georgetown. She was referred to as "Aunt Vi" by many within her family and those who knew her as a friend. She had 9 grandchildren, Annie and Ross Heirs, John Robert and Jessica Morrison, Mary and Keith Fields, Rob and Jay Henry, Josh, Julia, Cameron, and Kenadie Morrison and 3 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morrison, Jr. in 1965, and her granddaughter, Grace Morrison in 2007.
