Virginia Ann "Ginger" Harden

Virginia Ann Ferrell “Ginger” Harden 81, went home to be with Jesus June 1, 2024.  A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Faith Center Assembly of God under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Medlan Chapel Cemetery.  Lunch for the family will be served after the burial at Grace Baptist Church.

Ginger was born in Columbus, Georgia on March 4, 1943 to the late Johnnie Thomas and Dorothy Helen (Madden) Ferrell.  She married the love of her life, George Phillip “Pete” Harden on August 3, 1960.   She moved with him to Texas in 1973.   She loved nothing more than taking care of her family and friends.

Everyone thought they were her favorite, except Samantha, she knew that she was her favorite.  She was a light in this world to every person she met.  Their door was always open, no need to knock.  She had the softest hands for a woman who cooked for over 70 years.  She knew all of our favorites and cooked them for us on special occasions.  She had so much patience teaching us all how to cook things and can vegetables and make jelly, of course Dad took credit for teaching her everything she knew.  Our prayers as a family, is for every person that she ever met and loved carries on her legacy of bringing others to the Lord and being the best example of Jesus.

She is survived by son, George Phillip Harden, Jr. (Tammy) of Nocona; four daughters, Lynn Robinson (Billy) of Newcastle, Lisa Coop (Jimmy) of Graham, Johnnie Harden of Bryson, and Denise Morath (Tommy) of Scotland, Texas; bonus daughter, Sue Ethridge (David) of Mexia; three brothers, Larry Ferrell of Smiths, Alabama, Chuck Ferrell (Bonnie) of Opelika, Alabama, and Bobby Gunter (Faith) of Phenix City, Alabama.  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Phillip “Pete” Harden, her parents, sister, Judy Hunley, two grandchildren, Chelsea Paige Morath and infant baby, and great grandchild, Emily Jo Harden.
