Wanda Louise Caldwell

Wanda Louise Caldwell passed from home in Wise County to eternity at the age of 86 years. A visitation will be held at Morrison Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Saturday October 26, 2024, with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. 

Wanda was the third born daughter to Raymond and Ima Dell Carroll. The family of five moved to Graham when she was a very young child and homesteaded on New Castle Highway where she lived until marrying Herman Caldwell. The couple later moved to Pampa, Tx with a young daughter and soon had their second daughter. During that time she trained with IBM and later worked as keypunch perator for an oil & gas company. Their path took them back to Graham where they enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends for a few years, then off to Monahans and Paradise and Ft Worth where she worked again as a keypuncher at Bass Brother Enterprises. Their last 47 years were lived in a log house they built under the oak trees in the middle of a hay field in Wise County. In every community they lived, they connected their family with a church family and loved serving others with all their heart. She passed away in her home set under the oak trees. Anyone who had the pleasure of being in the presence of her warm heart, walked away feeling a little better about themselves. 

Wanda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Raymond & Ima Dell Carroll, Herman Caldwell, her husband of 68 years, two older sisters, Ray Dell Choate and Faye Nell Karper. 

She is survived by daughters Delinda Austin and Janna Turner. Grandchildren and great grandchildren Zachary Austin his wife Laura and sons Josh & Jacob. Jake Strickland, Candace Turner, Chase Austin and son Mason, Caleb Strickland and children Sean, Jada & Malachi.
