Wilbur Smith

Wilbur Lee Smith, 86, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Graham. Graveside service will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Wilbur was born on May 11, 1926 in Wills Point to the late Harvey Monroe and Thelma Louise (Burnett) Smith. He was raised in Wills Point and then moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma where he graduated from Central High School in 1944. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1946 to 1949. He married the love of his life, Doris Helen Richeson in Fort Worth in April of 1953. Wilbur was employed as an Engineer at the Fort Worth Fire Department, retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service.

Survivors include: granddaughters, Tracie Brown and husband, Seth of Saginaw and Shelley Lively and husband, Trevor of South Bend; four great grandchildren, Tarissa and Terry Narramore and Tanner and Cameron Lively; son-in-law, Bill Chenoweth of Millsap; a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death his wife, Doris, and daughter, Kay Chenoweth.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
