Willene Hackley Cole

Willene Hackley Cole, 94, died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Willene was born to Inez McDowell Hackley and Willie Coleman Hackley at her Hackley grandparent's home in Jacksboro, Texas on January 16, 1916. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Graham, Texas. On November 18, 1934 she married George E Cole, Sr. in Fredrick OK. He preceded her in death on February, 10, 1985. Willene and her husband were owners of a filling station in Graham during the 1940's and 1950's. She also worked in various retail shops in Graham. After the death of her husband, Willene moved to Oklahoma to be near her children and her extended family. She enjoyed her later years living in a senior retirement community in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Survivors include two sons George E. Cole, Jr of Bernalillo, New Mexico, Judson C. Cole of Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter, Frances Cole Barnett of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a brother, W.C. Hackley of Irving, Texas; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Frances Mendolia, a brother, John S. Hackley and her husband, George E Cole. Sr.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m at Morrison Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church in Graham.
