W.J. Haygood

W.J. Haygood, 84, died on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his home in Jean. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Tyler, pastor of Jean United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

W.J. was born on June 2, 1924 in Olney to the late Hugh and Bessie (McCagahren) Haygood. He married Erma Lee Sumrell on August 4, 1945. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1976. He was a former electrician with Heath Electric in Graham. W.J. was a farmer in Young County most of his life. He married Darlene Nall on December 6, 1986 in Jean. W.J. was a member of the Jean United Methodist Church in Jean.

Survivors include: wife, Darlene Haygood of Jean; daughter, Pam Hayhurst of Jacksboro; sons, David J. Haygood of Jean, Randy Nall of Mingus, and Jeff Nall of Loving; sister, Modena Huffman of Alvin; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Diane Olsen and sisters, Elaine Cooper and Vela Farmer.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
